Kalob started playing baseball at the age of 3 years old. He played high school baseball at Oak Ridge High School for 4 years as a left-handed pitcher and first baseman. He started his college career at Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas. He was recruited his sophomore year by The University of St. Thomas in Houston where he led the Celts to their first NCAA win in the modern-day era as the winning pitcher.
He played 4 years at the University of St. Thomas and graduated from there with a Bachelors in Business. While he was playing baseball, he was coaching and giving private lessons. He has now been coaching for 5 years and specializes in player development, pitching, power hitting, as well as baseball strategies and development of mental toughness for success on the field.
